In 2024, Somia was accepted into the Canadian Institute of Planners College of Fellows. The Canadian Institute of Planners College of Fellows is the highest honour for professional planners in Canada. The fellowship recognizes exceptional service, leadership, and contributions to advancing the planning profession at national and international levels.

Somia was recognized at the Winnipeg Women’s Conference for her leadership and entrepreneurial success. As a recipient of the WWC Nominee Program award, she continues to inspire and empower women business owners within her community.

Somia was named the Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2023. This prestigious award, hosted by the Women Business Owners of Manitoba, celebrates the achievements of women entrepreneurs who inspire and lead through innovation and business excellence.
